Exline, Inc. is seeking Precision Grinder to join our skilled team in a hands-on role responsible for the setup and operation of precision grinding equipment—including cylindrical, internal, and surface grinders. This position requires the ability to hold close tolerances (±.001”) on metal components and perform some non-precision hand grinding as needed. We're looking for someone mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious.
- Accurately clock in/out and record labor hours on job orders using the timekeeping system
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, and overhead cranes
- Interpret work travelers, blueprints, and customer drawings to determine specifications, tooling needs, and grinding sequences
- Set up and operate precision grinders and related tools
- Monitor processes and make on-the-fly adjustments for optimal quality
- Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, Arnold gauges, etc.) to verify dimensions
- Complete required documentation and route jobs to the next stage
- Communicate non-conformance issues or production delays to supervisors
- Perform routine maintenance on grinding machines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Procure and maintain required tools
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive work culture
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–3 years of related grinding or machining experience preferred
- Prior experience with manual lathes, surface/cylindrical grinders, or other production equipment strongly preferred
- Experience using forklifts, cranes, or hoists is a plus
- Excellent attendance and reliability
- Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills
- Ability to interpret shop documents, safety procedures, and technical manuals
- Capable of working independently and within a team
- Solid math skills for measurements and tolerances
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Regular standing, lifting, and physical work—frequently lifting up to 50 lbs, occasionally up to 100 lbs with assistance
- Exposure to loud noise, moving parts, airborne particles, and shop machinery
- Use of PPE (eye protection, safety shoes, hearing protection, etc.) required
- Must have the ability to operate material handling equipment and maneuver heavy parts safely
- Specific vision requirements include depth perception, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus
