Job Summary
The Pre-Engineered Metal Building Erector, under the direction of a Supervisor, will travel throughout the state of Arizona to assemble and install pre-engineered metal buildings and steel components for commercial and residential clients. The steel erector also safely follows standard work methods to ensure production is efficient and quality is built in.
Duties
•Read and interpret pre-engineered building drawings.
•Assemble buildings and components following specifications using hand and/or power tools.
•Prepare material and equipment prior to performing building erection work.
•Hoisting and guiding components into place using cranes and telehandlers.
•Ensure Quality and Quantity meet specifications and requirements.
•Complete housekeeping duties as required to maintain a clean and well-organized workspace.
•Continuously strive to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
•Cross train into other skill sets in to facilitate flexibility in production.
•Working from and operating elevated work platforms (scissor or manlifts).
•May be asked to perform other duties at a lower or higher level of proficiency or not related to this classification on occasion as needed.
•Installs fiberglass or other building insulation, metal cladding and standing seam roofs.
•Installs windows, passage doors, vents and other building components.
•Must be willing and able to work from heights. (Typically 10'-20' height).
•Occasional overnight travel for several consecutive days in Arizona.
•Always follow safety requirements and utilize the proper Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE).
•Cut and weld metal using metal shears, torches and welding equipment.
•Assemble hoisting equipment and rigging, including cables, pulleys and hooks, to ensure easy and safe movement.
•Drive company vehicles and operate heavy machinery as required.
•Education/Experience GED or High School Diploma preferred.
•6 months prior construction, roofing or erection experience preferred.

Physical Requirements
•Prolonged sitting or standing.

•Frequent use of feet and hands to operate machine controls.
•Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 50 lbs.
•Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 100 lbs.
•The ability to wear Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed (i.e., hard hat, fall protection, dust mask, respirator, safety glasses, gloves, face shield)
Pay ranges from $18/hr to $35/hr Depending on Experience
