POSITION OVERVIEW
Improve plant efficiency, while minimizing costs and ensuring proper care. The position's primary responsibility will be generating plant reports, metallurgical testing and continuous process improvement on the comminution, flotation and concentrate filtering systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Performs test work through technical laboratory analyses, process experimentation, mechanical evaluation, materials comparison, and statistical analysis, to improve existing concentrating process or to reduce costs.
•Perform tasks of Metallurgical technician, as necessary.
•Analyze reagent consumption, test reagent purity and characteristics, and ensure reagent availability in day tanks.
•Track concentrating performance by calculating reagent use, statistical analysis of grade and recovery, consumption patterns of grinding media, and operating variables.
•Plan programs to improve metallurgical index by projects based on geometallurgy, operational parameters, and other strategies.
•Communicate and coordinate closely with operators to achieve production goals.
•Capable of training and development of plant operators.
•Able to analyze and determine correctness of daily metallurgical reporting.
•Develop and implement optimization and cost reduction strategies on plant consumables and wearables.
•Assist in training and mentoring junior metallurgical staff in gaining new skills and achieving their full potential.
•Responsible for executing, supporting, and enforcing the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety program as required by OIS policy, directives, and principles.
•Research new value chains or flowsheet optimization strategies.
•Use Optical Microscope or other specialized equipment/software to generate reports on samples or conditions.
•Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
•Develops new procedures for continuous improvements (SOPs, check lists, etc.).
•Order materials and other supplies pertaining to work scope through SAP.
•Manages inventory of reagents and grinding materials and sets up delivery dates.

•Provide input for capital forecast and yearly operational plan.
•Assemble monthly and annual production and related reports and aid in evaluating performance.

Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
•Specialized knowledge of laboratory crushing, grinding, screening, flotation, etc., mineral processing equipment, and analytical devices used to measure results.
•Knowledge of mineral processing techniques and engineering fundamentals.
•Has visited multiple sites that have varied beneficiation processes.
•Must be proficient with Office Suite.
•Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
•Strong interpersonal skills in developing consensus building.
•Applicant must have good communications skills (oral and written).
•Must be able to manage time effectively and set priorities.
•Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks and troubleshoot problems.
•Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
•Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals in English.
•Ability to write articles and presentations for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
•Effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
•Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
•Ability to work in adverse climate/temperature environment.
•Familiarity with Computer Assisted Drafting (CAD) preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•Degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering.
•10 years of metallurgical experience in laboratories.
•Master's degree in Statistics, Metallurgy, Mining, Chemical engineering, or other related discipline is preferred.
•English language fluency.
+ At least CEFR B2 - Upper
Intermediate: Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialization.
