Responsibilities:
•Interpret and analyze manufacturing drawings to define manufacturing processes and tooling requirements to produce metal fabricated parts.
•Create 3D models and NC programs for Lasers, Presses, Turrets, Welders and other equipment using software such as SolidWorks, 4i Bend software, CAD
•Select appropriate tooling and sequence to meet customer requirements and optimize productivity and manufacturability.
•Manipulate drawings, create pattern layouts and internal prints.
•Draw and design simple fixtures as needed for manufacturing processes and determine when these are needed.
•Work with customers to improve design concepts for manufacturability.
•Key member of Advanced Production Quality Planning (APQP) identifying production risks, defining processes and developing instructions for manufacturing.
•Build part data and process routing information into our ERP, PLEX.
•Work effectively in a team driven environment.
Skills:
•Strong working knowledge of various drawing software and file types.
•Strong ability to read, interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, tolerances, specifications, bill of materials and other written instructions or procedure.
•Understanding of general drawing guidelines (ASME) and conventions for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
•Strong understanding of metrology and measuring of metal fabricated parts with the ability to perform mathematical analysis.
•Efficient in Microsoft Office software.
•Strong communication skills with the ability to provide written process instructions.
•Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project timelines.
•Quality awareness with a desire to be accurate and satisfy customers.
Experience:
•5 years experience working in a metal fabrication environment
•3 years minimum experience drawing and programming for metal fabrications
•Experience using ERP systems, PLEX preferred
