Job Summary: We are seeking a Stainless-Steel Weld Polisher to perform grinding, sanding, polishing, and buffing of stainless-steel welds and surfaces using various hand and power tools (e.g., grinders, sanders, buffers, polishing wheels), along with various types of shop duties including part pickups and deliveries. Must be able to use forklifts, hand tools, and must be able and have experience pulling and backing up trailers.

Responsibilities:

- Perform grinding, sanding, polishing, and buffing of stainless-steel welds and surfaces using various hand and power tools (e.g., grinders, sanders, buffers, polishing wheels).

- Ensure welds are smooth, clean, and free of imperfections such as burrs, scratches, and discoloration.

- Achieve specified surface finishes (e.g., brushed, mirror) according to project specifications and quality standards.

- Inspect finished workpieces for defects and ensure they meet quality control criteria.

- Maintain and clean polishing equipment and work area.

- Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to understand finishing requirements.

- Collaborate with welders and other production team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.

- Potentially assist with other metal finishing tasks as needed.

- Operating forklifts

- Operating overhead cranes

- Deliveries and pickups from suppliers with the company truck and trailer

- Miscellaneous shop related jobs; (cutting, drilling, sanding and shearing stainless steel sheet)

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Stainless Steel Weld Polisher or in a similar metal finishing role.

- Strong knowledge of various polishing techniques, abrasives, and equipment used for stainless steel.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.

- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

- Keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

- Ability to follow safety procedures and regulations.

- Must have a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

- Formal training or certification in metal finishing or a related field.

- Experience with specific surface finish requirements for different industries (e.g., sanitary, architectural).

- Familiarity with quality control procedures.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50lbs on occasion.

- Prolonged periods of standing and using hand and power tools.

- Exposure to noise, dust, and metal particles (appropriate PPE will be provided).

Shift:

- 10-hour shift

- Day shift 5:00am – 3:30pm M-TH

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
