About the Role

Perform functions to plan and manage the maintenance of the organization and the capital projects. Provides manufacturing and support departments with technical and engineering support needed to meet operational goals, working within the limits of established policies. Responsible for setting goals, establishing priorities, managing resources, developing concepts & approaches and reviewing project progress and results. Considerable organization, leadership and problem solving is required.

Manages and drives maintenance functions both operational equipment and facility, while following Extrusion Business System guidelines and keeping cost within control.

Responsibilities

- Conduct, trend, and perform root cause failure analysis, implement improvement plans for major failures and repeat breakdowns.

- Monitoring and control of spare parts inventory, tools & equipment within budget.

- Evaluate maintenance technician skill level and develop training plans to maintain skill levels according to current technology.

- Manage activity related to capital project.

- Negotiate contracts with outside vendors for execution of outside work.

- Acts as a company representative or liaison to ensure compliance to with all State, Federal and local authorities with respect to those activity within assigned responsibility.

- Acquire knowledge of HAR & OSHA safety standards and assure that adherence to standards are in place throughout the line.

- Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies.

- Knowledge of Hydro’s safety, environmental and quality standards.

- Ensure company premises and facilities are kept clean & hygienic.

- Perform other related duties as assigned to maintain workflow or respond to emergency conditions.

- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.

- Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition in accordance with 5 S standards.

- Requires the ability to perform all duties within limitation of the standard methods and procedures, and in accordance with strict adherence to HSE, quality and productivity requirements.

- Manage local area machine & fabrication area.

- Supervise Maintenance Supervisor, Facility Supervisor & Project Engineer.

Qualifications

- At least 5 years’ experience in industrial leadership.

- At least 2 years of supervisory experience.

Required Skills

- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Understanding of theories of operation, troubleshooting, repair procedures, and preventative maintenance practices.

- Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

- Knowledge of process related and equipment standard.

- Proven ability to develop successful partnerships with internal and external team members.

- Strong math skills.

- Comprehensive understanding of engineering principles.

- Comprehensive understanding of national standards and codes.

- Supervisory or managerial training/experience.

Preferred Skills

- BS in an Engineering discipline.

- 5+ years’ experience in Aluminum Extrusion Manufacturing Environment.
