The Plant Manager is responsible for leading all day-to-day manufacturing operations at Bentley Welding’s Greeley, Colorado facility. This role ensures production excellence through the
four most critical priorities—Safety, Quality, On-Time Delivery, and On-Budget performance (in that order).The Plant Manager will not be task-oriented, but instead will focus on developing processes, driving accountability among production managers, and ensuring efficient utilization of people, systems, and resources.
The ideal candidate has proven experience in steel fabrication operations, lean manufacturing, and ERP-driven scheduling and job labor tracking.
- Lead, mentor, and hold production managers accountable for achieving company goals.
- Foster a culture of
safety-first
, continuous improvement, and ownership.
- Conduct daily Gemba walks and production meetings to ensure alignment with company standards.
- Drive lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste, improve flow, and maximize throughput.
- Utilize the ERP system for scheduling, job tracking, labor management, and real-time decision-making.
- Ensure efficient planning and resource allocation to meet customer demand.
- Enforce strict adherence to all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company procedures.
- Promote a
“Zero Accidents, Zero Defects”
mindset across the facility.
- Oversee quality assurance systems to maintain AWS and ASME compliance.
- Maintain accountability for
on-time and on-budget delivery
of all projects.
- Track and report KPIs (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Labor Utilization).
- Collaborate with scheduling, procurement, and quality control to eliminate bottlenecks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, or related field (preferred). Equivalent work experience accepted.
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably in steel fabrication.- Strong knowledge of
AWS and ASME fabrication standards.
- Proven success in implementing
lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and 5S programs.
- Hands-on experience with
ERP/MRP systems
for scheduling, labor tracking, and production control.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong financial acumen—experience managing budgets and driving cost efficiency.
