Job Overview
Plant Managers help ensure a team’s day-to-day work aligns with organizational goals. They typically decide how to use resources efficiently, promote high company standards, such as exceeding objectives or goals, and liaise between plant employees, drivers, and members of upper management. Operations Managers also generally consider how to improve efficiency, increase profitability and meet the expectations of collaborators, customers and vendors. Other responsibilities may include:
- Work closely with AR, Admin, Sales Reps, drivers and other branches
- Completes transfers to other branches within the region.
- Works with plant associates to identify and address problems as well as prevent future errors on various issues that include misses, billing issues, back orders, open shipment maintenance and order mistakes
- Effectively communicate with production, distribution and sales departments to exceed external customer expectations by ensuring uninterrupted supply and delivery of packaged gasses.
- Initiates daily communication with sales department, drivers and plant associates regarding quotes, order status and deliveries.
- Works with plant associates to stock appropriate products and keep stocking levels at correct levels.
- Regularly oversees fill operations,
- Weekly plant walk through checking for FDA compliance.
- Weekly observation of the filling process
- Maintain warehouse equipment (scales, pallet jacks, forklift etc)
- Maintain inventory including bulk gas/chemicals
- Manages availability of drivers and equipment, including all maintenance requirements, to insure that adequate resources are available to meet distribution needs.- 5+ Years plant, production, manufacturing, or equivalent experience in the indistrial or specialty gas industry. - 5+ Years of management experience with team of 10 or more.
- Experience in bulk/cylinder filling operations.
