Position Summary

We have an immediate, full-time opening for an experienced Concrete Plant Manager. This position oversees all aspects of daily plant operations, including leadership, safety, production, quality control, scheduling, maintenance, environmental compliance, and personnel management.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with strong interpersonal skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production

- Oversee all plant manufacturing operations to meet production quotas and quality standards.

- Safely batch concrete and load trucks per order specifications.

- Manage production scheduling and ensure efficient plant operations.

- Monitor raw materials inventory and coordinate timely replenishment.

- Maintain and troubleshoot plant equipment; coordinate repairs with truck and welding shops.

- Perform month-end inventory and maintain accurate production records.

Personnel Management

- Supervise plant staff and drivers, coaching, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy.

- Promote a team-oriented work environment focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Quality Control & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and all local, state, and federal employment laws.

- Maintain a clean, safe, and environmentally compliant plant and yard.

Customer & Interdepartmental Relations

- Collaborate with sales representatives to support customer needs and develop strong client relationships.

- Review customer orders for correct mix designs and coordinate delivery logistics.

- Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of progressive experience in ready mix concrete production, equipment, and fleet management (preferred).

- ACI Level 1 Field Testing Technician and Concrete Batch Plant Operator Certifications (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).

- Working knowledge of OSHA/DOT regulations.

- Strong mechanical aptitude for plant equipment troubleshooting and repair coordination.

- Excellent problem-solving, math, computer, and communication skills.

- Knowledge of QC/QA processes in the ready mix concrete industry.

- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and variable schedules as needed.

- Ability to climb conveyor belts and silos up to 70 feet.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment as required.

- Capability to work in varying weather conditions and in proximity to heavy machinery.
