Job Overview
The Plant Manager must excel in a process-driven, results-oriented environment. While experience in the centrifugally case tube process is desired, it is not required. This role requires an individual who demonstrates sound judgment, thrives under pressure, and possesses strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills. As a key leader, they will guide foundry operators, manage conflicts, and facilitate employee development, all while focusing on process enhancement. The Plant Manager will play a crucial role in fostering a culture of hard work, professional growth, and success celebration, driving continuous improvement throughout the foundry operation.
· Oversee daily operations of both foundry and machine shop
· Develop and implement process improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and quality
· Participate in strategic planning to align department goals with overall company objectives
· Manage and optimize production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards
· Lead and mentor the foundry team, including operators, and supervisors
· Analyze production data and key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement
· Collaborate with other departments (e.g., sales, maintenance, engineering) to resolve issues and implement solutions
· Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products
· Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and customers
· Oversee equipment maintenance and upgrades to ensure optimal performance
· Manage budgets and control costs while maintaining production quality
· Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in centrifugal casting
· Develop and implement training programs for staff to enhance skills and knowledge in centrifugal casting techniques
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Metallurgy or Industrial Management
· Requires a general knowledge of materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of castings and efficient flow of foundry production.
· Possesses functional knowledge of basic math and its application to foundry activities and management.
· Working knowledge of machines and tools including uses, repair, and general maintenance.
· Ability to positively influence team members both personally and at work to achieve a high level of performance
· A passion for metallurgy and manufacturing processes
· Tech-savvy skills and the ability to decode complex blueprints
