Plant Manager

Role Summary

Indeck Ladysmith Biofuel Center is an established producer of premium heating and BBQ wood pellets located in Ladysmith, Wisconsin. Indeck is committed to operational excellence, safety, sustainability, and delivering high-quality biomass products to our customers.

The Plant Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations and maintenance of the Ladysmith facility. This role includes oversight of production, personnel, safety, inventory management, environmental compliance, and coordination with corporate leadership.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all plant equipment and processes, with direct supervisory responsibility of operations and maintenance personnel.

- Manage and update standard operating and maintenance procedures and oversee the implementation of preventive maintenance programs.

- Schedule and coordinate all aspects of plant activity, including operations, equipment maintenance, planned maintenance outages, and workforce deployment.

- Maintain accurate records of spare parts, raw materials, and finished product inventories at the plant and warehouse.

- Support business reporting and budgeting for corporate review.

- Assist sales team on new opportunities in the marketplace.

- Manage contracts and lease agreements associated with feedstock supply, product logistics, and inventory control.

- Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and permits, including but not limited to air emissions, storm water and above ground flammable/combustible liquid storage.

- Administer employee performance evaluations, compensation planning, and advancement programs for operating and maintenance personnel.

Required Skills

- Five years of management experience in a manufacturing environment

- Familiarity with production systems, safety protocols, and environmental compliance.

- Engineering or Business Degree preferred

- Knowledge of biomass markets, wood species and the wood pellet industry a plus.
