Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Plant Manager to lead our Light Gauge Steel Manufacturing Plant in Bonham, Texas. This vital role combines leadership responsibilities across both plant and production management, ensuring the seamless operation of our manufacturing processes. The Plant Manager will oversee all plant operations, drive innovation through technology adoption, optimize production efficiency, and maintain high-quality and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, a process-driven mindset, and a commitment to operational excellence and safety.
Key Responsibilities
•Direct and Manage Operations: Oversee all plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and other related activities.
•Optimize Day-to-Day Operations: Plan, organize, direct, and run optimal day-to-day operations to surpass customer expectations.
•Enhance Production Capacity: Increase production, asset capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining quality standards.
•Leadership: Manage and provide leadership to the fabrication and quality assurance teams, fostering a culture of performance and accountability.
•Training: Develop and implement training programs for team members on equipment operation, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures.
•Resource Allocation: Allocate resources effectively and utilize assets to produce optimal results.
•Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data to identify waste or overtime areas and develop systems to optimize productivity, standards, metrics, and performance targets.
•Production Scheduling: Plan and organize production schedules, assessing project and resource requirements.
•Equipment Maintenance: Organize the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
•Technology: Identify and implement new technologies and innovative solutions to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
•Documentation: Develop, document, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient operations.
•Safety: Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, promoting a safety-first culture.
Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Construction Engineering.
•Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in plant/general management in a manufacturing environment, preferably in steel fabrication or a related industry.
•Proven managerial experience with strong leadership, communication proficiency, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
•Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality assurance practices.
•Demonstrated experience in adopting and implementing new technologies to improve operational efficiency and innovation.
•Process-driven mindset with expertise in developing, documenting, and following standard operating procedures.
•Safety-conscious approach, with a track record of promoting and enforcing workplace safety standards.
•Familiarity with safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes.
•Technologically savvy, with experience in Epicor ERP preferred.
•Ability to work full-time on-site in Bonham, Texas.
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience in light gauge steel manufacturing or similar industries.
•Advanced degree or certifications in engineering or management.
•Proficiency in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
•Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies, such as automation or Industry 4.0 solutions.
•Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are preferred but not required.
