The Planning and Scheduling Engineer is responsible for owning the full Project Schedule and managing all components of the Progress Measurement System. This role oversees the development, maintenance, monitoring, and control of the overall project schedule, including establishing progress measurement requirements, verifying contractor reporting, and ensuring accurate integration across all project elements.
The engineer reviews contractor schedules for logic, quality, level of detail, source inputs, timing, and alignment with the Current Control Estimate, Work Breakdown Structure, and the overall Project Plan. This role ensures all contractor schedule deliverables meet required standards and are issued at appropriate frequencies. A key focus is the early identification of trends, risks, and deviations from the established plan.
In addition to Level 1 and Level 2 responsibilities, the Level 3 Planning and Scheduling Engineer will:
- Maintain consistent communication with project teams and the Functional Organization
- Work closely with planning engineers across project teams to ensure alignment and continuity
- Provide direction and feedback to project planning and control engineers on all schedule-related matters
- Drive and promote capital efficiency within Project Services and across stewarded projects
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of schedule performance, progress trends, and potential risks
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management
- Proven experience in project controls with a focus on planning and schedule management
- Relevant technical discipline certifications aligned with experience
- Ability to work overseas in a collaborative team environment
- Willingness to relocate to the project site as required
- Strong influencing, consulting, mentoring, analytical, and computing capabilities
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to respond quickly to urgent analysis or schedule requests
- Work Schedule:
Core hours 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM; minimal extended hours for meetings across time zones
- Hours:
Minimum 40 hours per week; surge overtime may be required
