Manufacturing Planning Engineer

Professional Education/ Experience Required

- 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering related field with 2 years’ experience in an engineering role within CNC machining (will consider internships and project work within college)

OR

- Five (+) years’ experience programming and set-up and continuous improvement experience across 3-5 axis milling, production fixture design and build, and CNC Lathes with live tooling/Y axis / subspindle (Long hand G/M code, CAM programming, Fanuc control)

- Demonstrated professional experience in technical written and verbal communication with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders

Responsibilities

- Confirm Customer POs by comparing PO to quoted PNs and lead times

- Create Part Number routers capturing all technically relevant requirements and assign to work cells and programmers with input from engineering/programming resources

- Ensure prints, revisions, customer notes, and OP certifications are correct

- Support QC with ballooning and inspection documentation as needed

- Create Work Order routers capturing all schedule relevant requirements. Place work orders on work cell schedules

- Gather material quotes and draft material POs

- Gather outside processing quotes and draft outside processing POs

- Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate between different stakeholders in quoting, programming, quality control, production and shipping

- Support scheduling by aligning workload, machine load, and job priorities between stakeholders

Production Readiness & Communication

o Ensure jobs hit the floor clean, accurate, and ready to run

o Support shift-to-shift clarity for high-value or complex work

o Provide customer updates on lead times as needed

Organization Structure

- Reports directly to General Manager

- Internal stakeholders include Engineering Manager, Operations Manager, Quality Manager, and Manufacturing Engineers

JOB TYPE & BENEFITS

- Salary Position with base 40 hours /week

- Day Shift (8-4:30) $70-$80k depending on experience
