Reporting directly to the Project Controls Manager, the Planner Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules to support successful project execution on site at Eskay Creek.
- Create, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Break down project scope into work packages and assign durations, dependencies, and resources.
- Track project progress and performance against baseline schedules.
- Analyze schedule variances and forecast potential delays or risks to timelines.
- Recommend and implement corrective actions when deviations occur.
- Collaborate closely with the Eskay Creek site team including project managers, engineers, construction superintendents, contractors and other stakeholders to gather schedule input and updates.
- Communicate schedule status and potential impacts to the site project teams and management through reports and presentations.
- Assist in the facilitation of schedule change management processes by assessing impacts of scope changes or project delays.
- Incorporate approved changes into the project schedule and update forecasts accordingly.
- Prepare regular progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of schedule assumptions, logic, and changes.
- A diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field is desirable.
- 3–7 years of experience in planning and scheduling large-scale projects, preferably in the mining sector.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and other project control tools.
- Direct site experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrates a high level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
- Exceptionally detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while also excelling in collaborative team environments.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to contribute across various project areas as needed.
This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.
The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena’s Travel Policy.
There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.
The expected salary range for this position is CAD $120,000-$135,000 in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
