As our Intermediate/Senior Piping Designer, you will be responsible for preparing engineered design drawings, used primarily in the construction and operation of oil and gas facilities. - Apply knowledge of piping systems to support the development of engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts and specifications.
- Prepare and review piping, structural and civil design deliverables, including plot plans, general arrangements, isometrics, and tie-in drawings, including as-builts.
- Develop and manage 3D piping modules using CADWorx or similar software.
- Ensure all designs meet technical specifications, regulatory codes, and client requirements.
- Collaboration with multi-disciplinary team to compile construction work packages for field installations. Field visits may be required.
- Lead 3D model design reviews, internally and with clients.
- Create and maintain drawing standards.
- Mentor junior designers.
- Review/check team design drawings.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Piping Designer with a strong technical background in oil and gas facility design. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A solid understanding of process piping systems and layout principles.
- Strong design knowledge, including piping and structural fundamentals.
- Familiarity with industry codes such as ASME B31.3 and CSA standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, with minimal supervision.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently or take the lead on design efforts.
- Experience in fast-paced, project-based environments.
- College diploma in Engineering Design/Drafting Technology.
- Registered with ASET with a CET designation is an asset.
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in piping design within oil and gas industry, ideally an EPC setting.
- Proficient with CADWorx, AutoCAD and 3D modeling tools. Familiarity with scanned models would be an asset.
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant industry codes and client specifications.
- Self-motivated, reliable, strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.
