Pay: $23 - $27, based on experience
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-1pm. These hours could vary depending on workload and project management needs.
Summary
Centerline Energy Construction is hiring a Permitting Specialist. This position is responsible for securing, tracking, and managing all permits required for gas utility construction and maintenance projects. This role ensures full regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal agencies and acts as the liaison between the company and permitting authorities, property owners, and municipalities.

Responsibilities
•The main roles and responsibilities for a permit specialist are:
o Filling out permits for various department within Centerline Energy Construction
•Coordinate with cities, counties, DOTs, and other regulatory agencies to ensure timely review and approval of permit applications.
•Track permit status and follow up regularly to expedite approval processes and avoid project delays.
•Interpret and ensure compliance with permitting conditions, local codes, and jurisdictional requirements.
•Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field crew to obtain necessary project details and timelines.
•Maintain organized records of permits, approvals, fees, and correspondence.
•Assist with renewals, extensions, and close-outs of expired or completed permits.
•Support regulatory audits and inspections related to permitted activities.
•Attend pre-construction meetings, and site visits as needed.
•Assist in resolving conflicts or issues related to denied or delayed permits.
•Maintain a positive working relationship with clients, inspectors, and public agencies.
Qualifications
•High School Diploma or equivalent required: associate or bachelor’s Degree preferred.
•2+ years of permitting experience in utilities, construction, or infrastructure development.
•Experience with gas utility permitting is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements
•Primarily office-based with occasional site visits or travel to municipalities.
•Must be able to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods.
•Capacity to reason and make sound decisions
•May require occasional lifting of files or permit packages (up to 25 lbs.).
•2+ years of permitting experience in utilities, construction, or infrastructure development.
•Experience with gas utility permitting is highly preferred.
