About The Role
The Permit Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting utility infrastructure projects by ensuring all necessary permits and approvals are obtained in a timely and compliant manner. This position works closely with project managers, engineers, regulatory agencies, and local governments to facilitate the permitting process for transmission, distribution, and generation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the permitting process for utility projects, including transmission lines, substations, and renewable energy installations.
- Research and interpret federal, state, and local permitting requirements.
- Prepare and submit permit applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Track permit statuses and maintain detailed records of all submissions and approvals.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, municipalities, and other stakeholders to resolve permitting issues.
- Support environmental assessments and compliance documentation as needed.
- Assist in developing permitting strategies to minimize project delays and risks.
- Monitor changes in permitting regulations and communicate impacts to relevant teams.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project timelines align with permitting schedules.
- High School Diploma required
- 0-2 years of experience in permitting, preferably within the power utilities or energy sector.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and permitting tracking systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Understanding of environmental and land use regulations.
- Experience working with regulatory agencies and local governments is a plus
The average salary range for this position will be $22-28p/hr based on experience and other qualifications.
