PURPOSE:
To ensure the accurate and timely processing of Payroll and related ancillary functions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:•Prepare and balance bi-weekly payrolls and special payrolls.
•Handle various payroll adjustments; including garnishments, vacation, bonuses, etc.
•Prepare related payroll journal entries.
•Prepare reports; respond to inquiries and other routine data gathering activities as needed.
•Responsible for verifying the accuracy and completeness of all payroll forms, including the necessary approval levels.
•Responsible for complying with all state and federal tax laws in the filing of state and federal taxes in a timely and accurate manner.
•Responsible for the accuracy of employee 401(k) deduction amounts, plan compensation, and total compensation as reported to the 401(k) administrator.
•Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records and documentation.
•Monitor and reconcile payroll related general ledger accounts.
•Assist in development of overall payroll procedures by recommending improvements or changes as necessary.
•Complete other tasks and duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
•Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
•1-3 years related experience and/or training.
•Must have experience using Microsoft Office; Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
•Must have basic experience in database report writing.
•Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in state of residence and demonstrate safe and responsible operation of motor vehicles.
•May perform other duties as assigned.
