The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the position of Part-Time Facility and Mechanical Maintenance Program Assistant. Incumbents in this position will work in assigned Service Groups to obtain entry-level experience in the wastewater industry. Incumbents will work with professional level staff to acquire the knowledge and skills to assist them in becoming familiar with the wastewater treatment industry.
Centralized Maintenance Service Center: Facility and Mechanical Maintenance
Incumbents will learn and perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work in facility and mechanical maintenance operations. Incumbents will have the opportunity to operate and maintain equipment, learn wastewater treatment processes, and carry out electrical, HVAC, facility and mechanical maintenance or other activities related to the successful operation and maintenance of a large wastewater treatment facility.
Please Note: Part-time employment will not lead to permanent employment. Part-time hourly employees are used to fill positions normally less than twenty (20) hours per week. Part-time employees do not receive benefits.

Education and Experience: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Equivalent to graduation from high school.

Working Conditions: Work outdoors in all weather conditions. Some positions may be exposed to hazardous chemicals and may be required to wear self-contained breathing equipment. Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Class C Nevada Driver's License at the time of appointment. Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted. Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination. - Assist with preventive maintenance of pumps, valves, compressors, and other mechanical equipment that push the flow of wastewater through various preliminary, primary, secondary and tertiary treatment processes.
- Assist in the repair of pumps, valves, compressors, and other mechanical equipment.
- Performs maintenance on electrical equipment, HVAC equipment and facilities equipment.
- Assists with daily preventive maintenance electrical equipment, HVAC equipment and facilities equipment.
- Perform or assist with general facility work including plumbing repair, carpentry, drywall repair, and painting.
- Perform Room setups and furniture moves.
- Performs general housekeeping duties and performs routine preventive maintenance of plant equipment, grounds, and facilities
- Performs daily reading of meters, gauges, charts and instruments and documents all required information.
- Interprets material safety data sheets (SDS) for all chemicals used on site.
