Position Summary

The Paralegal is responsible for carrying out routine tasks such as updating company files, preparing legal contracts, reviewing documents, and providing assistance to the Legal department. The Paralegal will maintain calendars for corporate compliance filings, litigation deadlines, company project deadlines, etc. This person should possess great customer service skills, as well as the ability to prioritize work and be a team player.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- General corporate housekeeping, i.e. maintains a calendar for corporate compliance filings, litigation deadlines, and company project deadlines.

- Conduct research on Westlaw and other databases, summarizes laws, cases, and files, and prepares a synopsis for use in responding to a legal issue.

- Prepares legal documents under the supervision of an attorney, and/or business communications as needed.

- Receives service of processes or correspondence and coordinates assignment to other members of the legal team or other departments. Assist with collection and production of relevant documents.

- Perform clerical tasks as needed, e.g. make copies, mailing, create folder labels, prepare packages, write generic cover memos, etc.

- Other admin duties and tasks as assigned by Legal Team

Qualification Requirements

- 2-3 years of Paralegal Experience

- Must have a valid CA Driver's License

- Must be comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment, wearing multiple hats, flexible attitude and quick to react.

- Bilingual is a plus, however it is not required.

- Excellent writing, research and analytical skills

- Must be able to communicate at a professional level with all levels of the company.

- Ability to meet deadlines and perform multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.

- Excels under pressure in demanding, fast-paced environment.

- Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers

- Regularly spend long hours in intense concentration reviewing and entering financial information into a computer

- Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects

- Regularly work in on projects that require deadlines

- Frequently bend to file and maintain files

- Occasionally lift 5-10 pounds
