Opportunity

ArcelorMittal North America is seeking a highly skilled corporate Paralegal & Administrator to join our team. Successful candidates should have at least five years of experience gained in a law firm or in-house environment.

The paralegal & administrator will work closely with our attorneys and other team members to manage day-to-day activities, providing certain organizational support for the legal, tax, and insurance departments in addition to substantive paralegal duties.


Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Assist attorneys with drafting, revising, reviewing, and analysing certain legal documents, including NDAs, board consents, and legal entity governance (e.g., formation certificates or merger agreements).

• Coordinates various legal entity, corporate secretarial, and governance matters.

• Maintains legal entity information including U.S. and foreign subsidiaries through organizational charts, corporate databases, and other summaries.

• Provide coordination support to the Compliance Officer assisting with the scheduling, recording and reporting on compliance training and other compliance reporting obligations.

• Coordinate administration of certain legal processes, including execution of documents, service of process, legal holds, and wage garnishments.

• Support maintenance of and adherence to policies and procedures.

• Facilitate department initiatives by liaising with other departments in order to manage transactions, implementation of changes and reforms, and administrative improvements.

• Assist department leadership with collection and maintenance of cost & budget information/data, for purposes of determining annual budget, monitoring budget to actuals, and reporting on costs to local and global management.

• Coordinate engagement administration of outside legal and other advisors, including initiation of new matters, review & execution of engagement letters or statements of work, and maintenance of advisory records.

• Review and administer payment processing of legal and other advisor invoices, including maintenance of electronic billing system and coordination with shared services.

• Support administration of the insurance program, including renewal information gathering and coordinating premium/claim payments.

• Support administration of the tax team, including assistance with compliance, reporting, or special projects.

• Organize and maintain legal, tax, & insurance files, including information requested by outside counsel, insurance carriers, tax authorities, customers, and vendors.

• Manage departmental organizational activities including but not limited to reporting to various systems, coordinating meetings, procurement of equipment and supplies, and facilitating communication among the staff.

• Take on additional tasks, special projects, and other related duties and/or direction as assigned and work collaboratively with team members at all levels in the organization.

• Any other duties and responsibilities as may be required.


Professional Experience and Qualifications


Education:


• Paralegal certificate.


Minimum Requirements:

• At least five years of corporate paralegal and strong corporate governance experience.

• More than two years of experience utilizing modern software tools, including Microsoft Office suite.


• Self-motivated & detail oriented.

• Strong organizational, analytical, communication and learning skills.

• Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.


Preferred Requirements:


• In-house corporate experience.


• Steel industry or heavy manufacturing experience.


• Tax experience.

• Location – Schererville, IN

• Working Conditions – This is an office-based position, Monday through Friday (currently operating on a 4-day in-office, 1-day work-from-home schedule). Extended hours may be required during peak workload periods.

• Scope - North America segment (USA focus)

• Travel – Minimal travel required (less than 10% of the time).
