Overview
At Eddie Kane Steel, we believe in treating others as we wish to be treated. We strive to continuously improve every day. Our Painter role is critical to the final appearance and protection of our steel parts. This position is based in our EKSP Masury division, working Monday to Friday from 6 am to 2:30 pm.
As a painter, you will:
•Prepare steel parts and surfaces for painting by cleaning, grinding, masking, or sanding as needed
•Apply industrial coatings using spray guns and other methods according to specifications
•Ensure all painted parts meet company standards for coverage, thickness, and appearance
•Maintain and clean painting tools, booths, and equipment
•Follow safety procedures related to ventilation, PPE, and chemical handling
•Communicate any defects or issues with parts to supervisors immediately
•Coordinate with welders, fabricators, and production team to prioritize and schedule parts
•Assist in loading, unloading, or moving painted parts as needed
•Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
•Participate in continuous improvement and 5S efforts
•Assist in loading trucks
•Package parts and stack parts in painting racks
•Help throughout the shop as needed
•Other duties as assigned
To be successful in this role, you should have:
•Prior experience with industrial or automotive painting (spray preferred)
•Knowledge of painting preparation, mixing, and spray techniques
•Ability to read and understand job travelers and paint specifications
•Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
•Willingness to wear PPE and work safely around chemicals
•Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines
•Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
•Ability to work in a team environment and take direction
