The Outside Processing Coordinator position is a role within Mill Steel's fulfillment team. In this role you will work closely with steel processing vendors and our fulfillment team to facilitate various areas of the supply chain process and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Among other functions, you will be responsible for managing supplier relations, inventory, and external production activities associated with providing exceptional service to a growing customer base.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Purchase order status/order tracking
•Communicating regularly with inbound logistics and fulfillment teams
•Understand and analyze customer forecasts
•Communicating & expecting order with vendors
•Communicating with Purchasing managers on status and inventory gaps
•Analyze inventory levels & purchase plans
•Complete weekly reporting; on time delivery, contract volume, & vessel/barge tracking
•Issue and expedite orders at outside processors to ensure on-time delivery to customers
•Monitor inbound/outbound material flow to/from outside processors
•Communicate effectively with vendors and internal customers at all levels of the organizations
•Issue RFQ’s and analyze proposals to determine lowest-cost/highest-value supply chains
•Supplier performance evaluation and selection
•Identify and champion continuous improvement projects
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or other relevant major preferred
•2+ years of experience in Procurement or buying related experience
•Business etiquette and professionalism.
•Exceptional communication skills.
•Able to prioritize daily task and complete projects on-time.
•Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Adobe, and Outlook
Organizational Relationship:
This individual reports to the Procurement Manager and works closely with a variety of departments throughout the company.
