ORE CONTROL GEOLOGIST

Job Responsibilities:
- Works without risk or harm to self or others
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures
- Safely operate both on and off-road vehicles
- Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
- Recognize, control, and communicate safety or environmental hazards
General duties when working on this project:
- Conduct Ore Control activities on a daily basis including blasthole sampling, sample drop off, assays analysis, creating ore/waste releases, field mapping and publishing daily maps.
- Conduct database management for blast holes and all sampling data.
- Geologic mapping blast holes and highwalls.
- Conduct sampling efforts for environmental, metallurgical and ore control needs.
- Update block models and digitize mapping daily.
- Perform work assignments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Liaise with other departments daily including Engineering, Survey, Ops, Metallurgy as necessary to achieve production goals and provide geologic guidance.
- Perform daily QA/QC in areas of responsibility.
- Adhere to the BM Environmental Health and Safety Management system in his/her areas of responsibility.
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
- Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
- Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
- Works without risk or harm to self or others.
- Punctuality and regular attendance required.
- Work well with other departments to achieve production results.
- Perform other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
- Other Geology tasks and projects as needed.
- Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
- General understanding of mining operations, milling and maintenance operations.
- Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing work processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
- Experience with acQuire, Vulcan, Ore Pro3D preferred. (Experience with Vulcan Grade control module a plus)
- Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of the management team.
- Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational, and technical writing skills
- Close attention to detail.
- Knowledge of ore deposits and economic geology.
- Bachelor’s degree in geologic sciences is required.
- One to three years of experience in Ore Control.
- Ability to perform fieldwork in all seasons.
- Must be at least 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the Untied States on a full-time basis.
- Requires a valid driver’s license.
