THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the Project Geologist – Exploration will work with Denison’s Saskatoon-based exploration and project evaluation team in advancing our portfolio of uranium projects in the Athabasca Basin. This will include various work on Denison’s flagship Wheeler River exploration claims and a number of other properties in the Athabasca Basin. The Project Geologist will be primarily responsible for planning and executing Denison’s exploration programs in the Athabasca Basin.

To be considered for this role, applicants must be eligible to work in Canada. This role is being offered as a full-time position and will be based in Saskatoon, with frequent travel Denison’s exploration sites, which may involve working on a rotational basis. Denison will provide board and lodging while at exploration sites.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution - 5+ years of relevant work experience (e.g., mineral exploration). Previous Athabasca Basin uranium exploration experience is an asset

- Registration as a Professional Geologist within Canada (P. Geo. or P. Geol) is required

- Eligible to work in Canada.

- A commitment to Health and Safety in the workplace

- Knowledge and basic experience of general management practices in an applied technical environment: e.g. finance (budget, accounting, governance), people management, and project management

- Ability to work in remote locations for extended periods of time

- Strong understanding of unconformity-related uranium deposits/hydrothermal ore deposits

- Strong understanding of structural geology, geochemistry and geophysical methods

- Skilled in producing high-quality maps and cross-sections from subsurface geological data

- Proficiency with GIS applications and 3D modelling packages (Leapfrog etc.)

- Effective verbal and written communication skills

- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

- Ability to interact successfully with all levels of staff, contractors, and vendors

- Valid driver’s license


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Plan and execute Denison’s exploration programs in the Athabasca Basin

- Ensure that projects are delivered safely, in a timely manner, and within budget guidelines

- Generate drill targets, collaborate on drillhole planning and permitting, execute drill programs and ensure the collection of quality geological data

- Provide leadership and mentoring to junior geologists and field technicians

- Maintain good relations with the communities within which we work

- Prepare written progress reports as required

- Accurately log, photograph, and sample drill core, including high-grade uranium mineralization

- Ensure that all geoscientific data collected is stored appropriately

- Coordinate drill pad and trail preparation, spotting and stopping holes, and rig moves

- Collect wireline geophysical data upon completion of drill holes

- Lead the interpretation and modelling of the geological and geochemical results

- Complete data compilation to support ongoing and upcoming exploration activities
