YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Supervisor – Underground Mine, you will be part of the Mining Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Your responsibilities
•Operate Jumbo Drill Rig;
•Proceed with daily equipment inspection;
•Inspect your working environment, including scaling rocks;
•Drill the holes according to drawings and specifications;
•Ensure health and safety requirements are met;
•Operate other equipment associated with the development or production category, as required;
•Obtain certification on other equipment associated to the development or production category, as required.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
•Minimum of 4000 hours of experience on Jumbo;
•NAC Certification or DEP in Mineral Extraction, or equivalent;
•Underground certification or equivalent, such as Mining Modules and Common Core are an asset;
•Mining engineering plan reading skills;
•Valid approval letter under the explosives regulations or equivalent, such as explosive permit;
•Certification on other equipment in the development category such as Bolter, Development Loading Unit and Production Scoop 12yds will be an asset;
•Possess the physical requirements to perform the job;
•Experience working in a multicultural environment;
•Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
•Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written).
Note that the official working language at our Nunavut operations is English.
Your Work Schedule:
•Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
•Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
