YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Supervisor – Underground Mine, you will be part of the Mining Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Your responsibilities
•Inspect and maintain the water de-sliming and pumping circuit to ensure efficiency of the system and to prevent any saline water leaks;
•Ensure that all underground dewatering/pumping/de-sliming equipment are in good working order;
•Operate different construction and mining equipment such as Jackleg, stoper, shortcrete machines, zoom boom, boom truck and scissor lift;
•Work with the maintenance and electrical departments during preventative maintenance and unplanned repairs;
•Prepare and maintain records for pumping materials, complete work orders;
•May be involved in other construction tasks.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
•Experience in industrial welding environment with a working knowledge of manuals, and schematics is expected;
•WBC Certification is an asset;
•Inter-Provincial (Red Seal) Certification and High Pressure Certification are an asset;
•NAC Certification or DEP en Extraction de Minerai or equivalence;
•Underground certification or equivalent such as Mining Modules and Common Core are an asset for the position;
•Mining Engineering Plan Reading skills;
•Valid Approval Letter under the Explosives Regulations or equivalent document such as Explosive Permit;
•Possess the physical requirements to perform the job;
•Experience working in a multicultural environment;
•Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
•Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written).
Note that the official working language at our Nunavut operations is English.
Your Work Schedule:
•Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
•Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
