Job Objective:
Serve as the operational lead and subject matter expert for a designated midstream asset group, overseeing daily operations, maintenance activities, compliance documentation, and project support. Responsible for advanced troubleshooting, cost tracking, and ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable performance of pipeline systems and associated equipment.
- Provides leadership in shift transition by conducting detailed reviews of prior shift activities for accuracy and continuity. Verifies operations log data and validates process board inputs to ensure compliance with standard procedures and regulatory expectations.
- Oversees the use of flow control instrumentation to monitor, regulate, and optimize product throughput across pipeline systems, ensuring adherence to operational targets and safety thresholds.
- Leads operational assessments and field inspections to evaluate pipeline condition, proactively identifying anomalies and coordinating appropriate corrective actions to uphold system integrity.
- Directs preventive maintenance programs to ensure mechanical readiness and asset uptime. Oversees troubleshooting, repair execution, and lifecycle inventory management. Champions the evaluation and adoption of new technologies to enhance maintenance effectiveness.
- Analyzes operational data and consolidates performance metrics into actionable reports. Communicates insights and recommendations to stakeholders for continuous improvement and compliance assurance.
- Supervises asset condition inspections, identifying leaks, wear, and fatigue. Authorizes or escalates repair strategies in alignment with regulatory and company safety standards.
- Promotes technical excellence by engaging in ongoing professional development and mentoring team members.
- Facilitates knowledge transfer to strengthen operational consistency and capability.
- Enforces pipeline safety practices and regulatory compliance. Leads or supports audits and safety inspections, ensuring the work environment remains compliant and risk-controlled.
- Oversees SCADA monitoring and interpretation for real-time control of pipeline performance, including diagnostics, alarms, and system adjustments.
- Ensures accurate logging of meter readings, quality assurance tests, and process modifications, maintaining records to support traceability and audit readiness.
- Leads right-of-way (ROW) surveillance and inspection efforts to protect asset access and environmental compliance, while identifying potential third-party encroachments.
- Manages ROW marker replacement and pipeline locating using advanced detection equipment. Directs observation and documentation of foreign utility crossings.
- Coordinates and executes pipeline pigging operations, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and operational best practices.
- Demonstrates the ability to routinely operate barge loading and unloading
- As a SME – shares best practices with others and helps with advanced trouble shooting.
- Provides mentoring and guidance to all employees in area as a subject matter expert and lead, escalating to management as needed.

- Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).

- Eight (5-8) years’ minimum oilfield experience.
- Ability to work established work schedule.
- Ability to drive and operate company vehicle.
- Demonstrates increasing degrees of understanding how the various parts of the oil/gas facility/plant work together (from the wells through the production facilities to the oil and gas sales lines).
- Demonstrates an increased ability to work unsupervised, act upon an acquired knowledge of how the facilities function, anticipates and corrects problems before they occur or before other parts of the facility are affected.
- Demonstrates the ability to routinely operate the facility unsupervised, while maintaining the facility in a safe, environmentally sound condition and maintaining neat and accurate records of the operations.
- Demonstrates the ability to direct the work of and train other employees of lower rank and/or experience.
- Demonstrates the ability and willingness to remain aware of and direct the whole scope of simultaneous activities at the job site on a routine basis.
- Demonstrates the ability to recognize when non-standard or non-routine conditions exist at the facility, notify supervisory staff, and offer recommendations for solutions to the problem.
- Basic mathematic and mechanical skills.
- Computer skills using Word, Excel and other systems as needed.
- Ability to operate a boat (if applicable).
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
- Ability to consider safety in all decisions.
- Ability to lead and influence others.
- Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Valid driver’s license
