This role will direct and lead all divisional regional technical support teams, including process, operations, continuous improvement, automation, maintenance, and project engineering, to meet short and long-range objectives with optimum efficiency and overall improved performance in all dimensions. Supports plants in implementing new tools, CI & RV, Capex initiatives, and projects while ensuring that the team members are aligned and properly technically trained and that necessary tools are available, as well as a regular exchange with Fort Worth and the Group is achieved. Drive the development and implementation of a sustainable reliability-centered maintenance program that includes the collection and analysis of relevant maintenance/configuration/condition data to change maintenance practices that minimize in-service asset/component failures, extend equipment life, and optimize maintenance costs.
Responsibilities & Expectations Performance, reliability and availability of plant assets and equipment
- Review and develop processes, procedures and programs for the different mines and plants
- Review and drive the updating of the Preventative Maintenance programs at the locations.
- Establish and monitor programs for critical equipment analysis and condition monitoring techniques.
- Create efficient spare parts inventory with a focus on development of critical spare parts inventory.
- Lead the Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) program to include the identification and resolution of equipment failures.
- Assists the location’s leadership in the direction and prioritization of needed capital projects and expenses
- Allocate resources appropriately in the face of competing demands
- Ensure that equipment is properly designed, selected and installed based on life-cycle philosophy.
- Promote equipment standardization.
- Develop standards and specifications for major maintenance overhauls.
- Perform analysis of critical equipment failures and determine root cause.
- Assure spare parts inventory needs of all new equipment.
- Provide technical guidance for the CMMS (SAP).
- Serve as the focal point for monitoring performance indicators for plant management.
- Implement requirements for reliability program and ensure it is aligned with overall Operations goals
- Improve the efficient operation of operations thru the implementation of a robust plant instrumentation program.
- Assure that plant instrumentation has high reliability and is quickly repaired after downtime.
- Prioritize location automation support to balance the overall divisional automation improvement needs.
- Assure that the automation and instrumentation support functions are properly staffed and robust.
- Track operational KPI’s and provide Develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes.
- Identify, collect, analyze, and manage various types of data to minimize failures and improve performance, and use failure analysis, RCFA, and/or other types of root cause analysis in support of reliability.
- Lead the implementation of the Lean program and tools.
- Drive the development of a continuous improvement culture through the use of Kaizen events and yellow belt training.
- Lead and drive the Division’s CAPEX projects and cost centers
- Develop and support any alternative fuel sustainability projects
- Support the Strategy team of the division and region on technical but also development matters
- Work close with Corporate Capex team on ensuring Capex reporting is accurate and to the established standards
Leadership and Development of
Regional Engineering Support Team- Provide structure, direction and feedback to divisional engineering team members
- Readily share information and develop the divisional engineering team by delegating to their strengths
- Set clear guidelines and expectations for the team

- Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint software. Previous SAP knowledge is a plus.
Physical Demands Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Must be physically able to perform work assigned.
- Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations.
- Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.
- Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 200 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
- Will be working in an office environment, mining, and mineral processing environment.
- The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles.
- The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to travel up to 50% as directed by leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field or demonstrated skills and ability and/or equivalent work experience in the field.
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or a relevant / related field; with strong focus on mining and heavy industry related topics, such as process, electrical, and mechanical engineering and exposure to automation and reliability.
- Must have at least seven to ten years previous engineering leadership experience in a fast paced heavy manufacturing, construction, and/or mining environment. Previous process engineer, mechanical engineer, chemical engineer, automation/reliability, and/or maintenance experience. Development and implementation of reliability system and programs. Previous experience leading a plant. 2-3 years of Project Management experience within an industrial environment.
- Lean system and tools implementation experience.
- Knowledge of managing a cost center budget is desired. Capex budgeting is highly desired.
