At Chesterfield Fencing, smooth processes and systems along with outstanding customer service are the keys to our success. This role oversees projects and directs the crews in the completion of installation projects keeping the jobs on schedule and on budget. It is the responsibility of the Operations Manager to supervise and train crew members, provide superior quality services, world-class customer service and to recommend and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce overall cost.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Employee and Subcontractor Management:
•Recruit, train and supervise installation crew members and subcontractors.
•Manage installation crew members and subcontractors to ensure their responsibilities are being executed with quality and on-time. Effectively communicate and work with the other teams within the Company as required (e.g., material status, installation scheduling).
•Work with the HR Manager to onboard new employees and subcontractors
•Track time of hourly employees and submit to the Finance Manager for payroll weekly.
•Track man hours per project and update reports.
•Track subcontractor pay for completed Projects and submit to the Finance Manager for payment.
Lead and Manage Installation Process and Services:
•Improve operational management systems.
•Monitor and report on operational key performance indicators (e.g., # of Jobs completed, man hour tracking).
•Scheduling - Lead install scheduling meetings for the upcoming week(s).
•Ensure installations comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., pool code regulations, 811 utility markings).
•Create Work Orders and ensure that the Work Order provides the proper level of instruction for the Crew Leader and also contains all necessary material for the job and/or tools.
•Schedule crew members based upon the scope of the project and the manpower and skills required for the project.
•Manage Customer Issues during and after installation (e.g., installation issues, complaints). This includes quality reviews of the services provided.
•Manage hit utility lines (e.g., 3 Hour Tickets, Service Tickets with Utility Provider, Photographs, Customer Updates)
•Update the CRM system when a Job is complete with the start and end date and change the Job Status to Job Completed. Ensure that pictures of completed jobs are added to Company systems.
Vehicle/Equipment Management:
•Manage vehicle registration renewals (notify Finance Manager 60 days prior to upcoming renewal date); inspections, warranty/maintenance, and track mileage and repairs on vehicles utilized by the Operations Team.
Insurance Management:
•Ensure that all employees driving Company owned vehicles are covered by Company insurance policy.
