Role:
The PICA Field Technician plays an integral role in working with the rest of the operations, sales, and analysis team in completing field projects for PICA’s inspection and condition analysis services offering. This role requires a mechanically experienced, confident communicator, professionally minded individual. The field technicians are directly responsible for execution and completion of field projects using PICA’s suite of custom inline advanced NDT tools.
The ideal candidate will have two years’ pipeline maintenance, operation or construction experience. Water or wastewater experience is ideal. The ideal candidate will also conduct business in alignment with PICA’s Core Values

Responsibilities
•Responsible for NDT job and tool preparation for field inspection work
•Installation and calibration of meter stations - electronic flow meters, transmitters, and monitoring equipment
•Provide ongoing customer satisfaction, exceptional attention, support and services to customers with a courteous attitude.
•Assist with tool & equipment inventory and maintenance.
•Communicate regularly with Supervisor or Project Manager regarding job & customer’s concerns and service issues.
•Willing to be trained in new technology as needed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements.
•1+ years of industry related experience—pipeline inspection, construction, or operations. Water, wastewater experience ideal.
•Highly organized, flexible, and maintains confidentiality.
•High School Diploma (GED equivalent acceptable)
•ASNT/CGSB NDT tickets considered an asset
•Bilingual in English with French or Spanish considered an asset
•General Fabrication Skills considered as an asset.
Key Competencies
•Typically has a high school education or general education degree (GED) with an understanding of pipeline equipment and general operations.
•Preferred 2 years in some pipeline operation, maintenance or construction capacity.
•Proficient with a personal computer and common programs
•Ability to write legibly and speak effectively to customers and PICA team members.
•Strong team player, capable of performing in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
•Able to deal with confidential information with a high degree of diplomacy and good judgment.
•Will require overnight stays away from home to execute inspection projects
•Must have the ability to lift, up to 70 lbs.
•Ability to drive a full-size truck and 20ft trailer
•Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions.
•Ability to pass a physical fitness test, as well as Criminal Background Checks as required for site.
