The ideal candidate is an Oil & Gas Title Attorney with experience rendering drilling and division order title opinions covering oil & gas interests in Oklahoma Texas, New Mexico, and other oil & gas producing states. The attorney must have a solid foundation in Mid-Continent (OK & TX) mineral title, working interest title, HBP & depth severed title, federal, state, and Indian restrictions, OCC, RRC, and other regulatory implications, along with excellent curative direction. Prior drilling and division order title opinion experience is a must. This is a management heavy role that involves direct management of title attorneys, landman staff, and client relationships, as well as a dedicated business development element.
- Receive, catalog, and track all work orders from clients
- Determine scope and estimate time/cost to complete individual projects/work orders/assignments
- Manage the prioritization, queue, assignment, & prosecution of work orders
- Train staff attorneys and title landmen in processes and forms
- Ongoing mentor support to staff attorneys and landmen
- Review and quality check all title opinions and certified and defensible title products
- Improve upon staff efficiencies and project turnaround time
- Render oil & gas drilling and division order title opinions
- Licensed to practice law in OK & TX at a minimum
- 10+ years title experience in multiple basins and states- Direct management experience
- Must have experience with training attorneys and title landmen
- Juris Doctorate degree or higher (Energy Management or PLM preferred)
- Landman background preferred
- Both In-house E&P and broker experience preferred at the management level
- Excellent verbal and written business communication skills are essential
- Advanced Excel skills are essential
- Must have excellent time management skills and a dedicated work ethic.
