Job Description:
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, direction, management, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects according to specifications and within budget, from initiation through completion. This role leads Joint Project Teams (JPTs), applying professional principles, practices, and techniques to manage and control project schedule, cost, and performance risk. The Project Manager ensures projects are completed within established constraints (e.g., time, budget, resources, quality, materials) and delivered to a high standard of quality.
This position is generally assigned medium-sized projects or designated functions within larger projects. Work may be performed individually or through project teams. The Project Manager serves as the single point of contact for all project-related matters.
- Capable of managing project budgets over $8 million
- Managing a portfolio of projects with an aggregate value exceeding $25 million across all active assignments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a technical field, or equivalent education, training, and/or work experience required.
- Must be working toward Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through the Project Management Institute.
- Minimum of five years of utility project management experience,
or equivalent functional area experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management techniques and practical experience in project scoping and cost estimating.
- Proven ability to analyze complex technical problems and identify cost-effective solutions.
- PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

- Personnel must demonstrate skills and experience commensurate with the size and complexity of assigned projects.
- Training requirements must be completed as outlined in SPP-34.018 unless formally exempted by the manager based on equivalent work experience.
