This is a full-time on-site role for a Nuclear Engineer
, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The position is ideal for candidates with technical expertise who are passionate about advancing safe, scalable nuclear technology. This is a general application for our Nuclear Engineering team and may evolve into a more specialized position based on candidate strengths and company needs.
You will work closely with our cross-functional team—including mechanical, electrical, and regulatory engineers—to support the design, analysis, and safety development of Hadron’s micro modular reactor. The role spans both core reactor physics and balance-of-plant engineering, with opportunities for hands-on design and innovation in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in
Nuclear Engineering
or a related field
- 5+ years of experience inreactor core and neutronics design
- Experience with Monte Carlo and deterministic simulation tools
- Proficiency in
MCNP, Serpent, CASMO, SCALE, or PARCS
for reactor physics analysis
- Strong understanding of
thermal-hydraulics and heat transfer
- Knowledge of
nuclear safety analysis
and
regulatory frameworks
- Experience with
instrumentation and controls (I&C)
and radiation monitoring systems
- Familiarity with NRC licensing or DOE engagement is a plus
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills
- Passion for clean energy and a startup-minded approach to problem-solving
