Non-Ferrous Worker

Job Overview

The Non-Ferrous Worker plays a crucial role in the processing and handling of non-ferrous materials within our facility. This position involves operating forklift equipment, performing sortation duties, and ensuring that all materials are handled safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, capable of heavy lifting, and possess a strong understanding of customer service and production.

Duties

- Perform sortation on various non-ferrous items such as: brass, copper, aluminum, stainless. (no prior training necessary)

- Operate forklifts

- Operate computer software for purchasing non-ferrous materials on scale program. (RIMAS)

- Understand weight and inventory of commodities

- Process commodities via cutting or disassembling metals.

- Perform regular quality control on sorted commodities.

- Assist in the loading and unloading of materials from trucks and other vehicles.

- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.

- Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals while adhering to safety protocols.

Experience

- Familiarity with non-ferrous materials processing is a plus.

- Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the shift.

- Experience in high production industry setting is advantageous.

- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues are essential for success in this role.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $23.00 per hour
