- Skills and Abilities:
- - Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail with basic math, reading, and computer skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word) and internal systems (Badger Net).
- Physical Requirements:
- - Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work safely at heights, including on railcars.
- Capable of operating heavy equipment and performing physical tasks such as lifting and climbing.
- Rail Loadout Operations
- Understand customer needs, product lines, and specifications.
- Load railcars according to customer orders, ensuring proper grade, specifications, and legal capacity.
- Operate the TrackMobile and perform switching operations to position railcars for loading.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the rail loadout system, tracks, and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and address process inefficiencies to maintain safety and quality goals.
- Safety and Environmental Compliance
- Inspect work areas for hazards or defects and document findings to ensure timely repairs.
- This position will require use of a respirator, PPE is provided by Badger.
- Utilize fall protection systems when working on top of railcars.
- Address and document any environmental issues, such as oil/fuel spills.
- Team Collaboration and Communication
- Coordinate with planning and scheduling teams to meet customer and operational needs.
- Utilize open, honest, and respectful communication to foster a family-oriented team atmosphere.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Complete loadout reporting, including railcar arrivals and inspections, and maintain inventory records.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance
- Perform pre-shift inspections, fueling, and maintenance of mobile equipment.
- Operate utility vehicles, skid steers, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Remove snow and ice hazards from tracks during winter months.
- General Support
- Participate in housekeeping tasks within the rail loadout area and throughout the plant.
- Provide training, feedback, and support to team members to enhance overall team performance.
