Martin Marietta is hiring Heavy Equipment Operators to support our underground mining operations on the north side of Ames. Schedule:
This position follows a rotating 3-4 night shift schedule. For example: you will work three nights one week (Monday, Thursday, Friday) and four nights the next (Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday).
On the weekends you’re scheduled to work, you’ll work three consecutive night shifts. On your off-weekend, you’ll enjoy three nights off in a row.
Shifts run from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
- Responsible for operating a variety of off road haul trucks and other equipment utilized in mining which could include scalers, loaders, skid loaders, etc.
- Perform daily inspection of vehicle and work area as assigned
- Observe visual and auditory signals during vehicle operation
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment; clean equipment
- Assist on plant maintenance and repairs as needed
- Other mining related duties as required
- High school Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 1 year previous experience in a role with similar responsibilities
- Bi-Lingual is a plus
