Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Natural Gas Construction “Transmission” Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for transmission natural gas pipeline construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transmission natural gas construction estimating, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of industry standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
•Prepare detailed cost estimates for transmission natural gas pipeline construction projects
•Analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents
•Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
•Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to develop comprehensive project scopes
•Identify labor, material, and equipment costs
•Assist in value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
•Track and maintain historical data for benchmarking and forecasting
•Support bid reviews and presentations
Qualifications:
•Minimum 3–5 years of experience in natural gas construction estimating, preferably in transmission natural gas
•Knowledge of industry-standard estimating tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera 6, Bid2Win, HeavyBid, MS Excel)
•Strong understanding of pipeline construction methods, materials, and regulations
•Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
•Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
•Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience
Preferred:
•Experience with DOT compliance and utility permitting processes
•OSHA safety training and awareness of pipeline safety regulations
