An MPD Specialist I is responsible for providing support to drilling operations teams in the implementation and management of Managed Pressure Drilling technology. The Specialist will demonstrate the ability to monitor well bore conditions and calculate ECD’s and ESD’s throughout the drilling process while determining and maintaining constant downhole pressures. Maintain excellent communication with on-site customer representative and Drilling Engineer. This role will maintain all MPD and RCD equipment as well as safely and efficiently rigging up and down all equipment. An MPD Specialist I will also maintain and keep Stasis and client quality, health, safety and environment systems compliant.
Primary responsibilities are inclusive but not limited to the items listed below.
• Demonstrate the knowledge to use hydraulic modeling software and provide detailed well-bore ECD information while drilling, tripping, casing and cementing wells
• Demonstrate comprehension and utilize basic calculations to provide ESD (Equivalent Static Density)
• Assist in building and providing ECD pill and displacement procedures to trip in and out of hole
• Assist with rigging up and down all MPD and RCD equipment, attaching and detaching high- and low-pressure steel lines/hoses
• Demonstrate the ability to know how to regularly check MPD and RCD equipment for any problems and safety issues
• Maintain positive communication with client representative and all rig personnel on site
• Take initiative and work independently during downtime
• Recognize & respond to kick & loss indicators based on Stasis Procedure/Roadmap.
• Complete a trip sheet and provide knowledgeable reasons for trip sheet volume deviations.
• Demonstrate the ability to operate 1 MPD System
• Ability to rig up MPD/RCD with supervision
• Ability to identify choke and RCD components
• Support and participate in the organization’s Continual Improvement Program to conform to ISO 9001:2015 requirements by complying with the Quality Policy and procedures and meeting QMS Objectives.
• Recognize the difference between and HSE and Service Quality Event
• Submit Observations/Hazard Cards in accordance with HSE Policy
• Demonstrate an understanding of reporting process for HSE events
• Complete all required training in a timely manner
• Understand the process for reporting a Service Quality event at Stasis
• Able to successfully meet pre-employment testing requirements which may include, without limitation, pre-employment drug and alcohol test(s) and background checks as well as drug and/or alcohol testing periodically during employment (subject to state and federal laws)
• Strong communication in English (Both Verbal and Written)
• While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee must follow all required safety instructions as per company HSE policy.

• Ability to work with minimum guidance as well as in a team-based environment required.
• Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment which includes working around constantly moving overhead machinery, being in close proximity to loud equipment and handling potentially hazardous materials

• Able to repetitively climb steep stairs and lift / carry 50+ pounds independently
• Able to stay alert and focused for 12+ hours while performing repetitive and routine activities including but not limited to walking, standing, or sitting
• Able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and crawl throughout the tour work shift
• Ability to use heavy-duty handheld and long-handled tools
• Able to work closely with others in a confined area and live together in crew quarters
• Demonstrate clear communication skills including ability to read, write and speak English as well as understand and promptly follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to travel and work in remote locations working 12+ hour shifts that can include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Clear vision to judge near and far distances
• Able to accurately recall information over short and long-term time periods
