- Maintaining clean work areas and equipment, clean machinery areas under the control of the Watchkeeping Engineer.
- Assisting Engineers and Deck Engineer (where carried) during repairs and maintenance of equipment.
- Performing other mechanical duties as directed by the Watchkeeping Engineer.
- Performing emergency duties in accordance with the vessel's Muster List / Station Bill.
- Ensuring that daily activities and the activities of other crew members are carried out in a safe and healthy manner and that the impact of such activities on the environment is within acceptable limits.
- Complete other duties and/or projects as required and assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education / Training:The Motorman shall hold a USCG Merchant Mariner's Credential.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience as motorman, preferably on an offshore marine vessel; or recognized mechanical institution.
Skills:
Able to speak and understand English.
Special Requirements
- Additional requirements are contained in the Qualifications and Training Matrix appropriate to each vessel.
- The Motorman has the authority to stop ANY activity on the grounds of immediate safety, health and environmental hazards.
Decision Making:
The Motorman co-ordinates with any persons necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
