The Moss Mine Complex, located in Bullhead City, AZ, is a surface gold and silver mining operation utilizing heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to extract metals from low-sulfidation epithermal vein systems. The operation is driven by a commitment to safety, sustainability, and efficiency in precious metal recovery.
The Moss Mine located in Mohave County in northwestern Arizona, is approximately a one hour and a half drive south of Las Vegas, Nevada. Golden Vertex Corp is currently seeking a qualified person for the position of Process Manager for our Moss Mine project.
About this role – Process Manager
The Process Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the metallurgical processing operations at the Moss Mine Complex. This includes crushing, heap leach pad, solution management, Merrill-Crowe, metallurgical testing, process optimization, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate brings technical expertise, leadership skills, and a continuous improvement mindset to enhance gold and silver recovery and operational performance.
- Direct and manage all aspects of gold/silver processing including crushing, heap leaching, solution handling, and Merrill-Crowe operations.
- Optimize recovery processes and ensure consistent metal production in alignment with monthly and annual targets.
- Oversee metallurgical testing and sampling programs to support process efficiency and troubleshooting.
- Ensure effective reagent usage and manage chemical inventories.
- Develop and monitor budgets.
- Forecast cash flow and develop budgets across different departments to ensure alignment with financial goals and strategic initiatives.
- Lead and supervise the processing team, including metallurgists, operators, and lab personnel.
- Develop, mentor, and train team members to ensure a high-performing, safety-conscious workforce.
- Support cross-departmental coordination with mining and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Enforce strict adherence to MSHA, ADEQ, and company-specific health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Collaborate with environmental and safety personnel to monitor and manage cyanide and other process-related risks.
- Maintain documentation for all required process inspections, reports, and audits.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance recovery, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact.
- Monitor and report daily, weekly, and monthly production and recovery KPIs.
- Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations or equipment inefficiencies.
- Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in mineral processing, preferably in a gold mining environment.
- Extensive experience with heap leach operations and Merrill-Crowe systems.
- Strong knowledge of metallurgical sampling, process control, and gold/silver recovery methods.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in process control software, metallurgical modeling tools, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations related to processing (e.g., cyanide handling, wastewater).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, or be I-9 compliant and legally able to work within the United States.
