The Support and Development Center provide services to Agnico Eagle's various Canadian and / or international mining operations in a variety of areas, including administration, financial services, IT, supply chain, human resources, communications, construction as well as technical services (geology, engineering, metallurgy, infrastructure, marketing, innovation, and digital transformation).
Reporting to the Mine Engineering Superintendent, you will be part of the Technical Services Department. You will be participating in the development of mining reserves at the Pinos Altos Complex, the development of mining methods, detailed mine planning, economic evaluation and the production of Long Term Mine Plans (LOM). Using your leadership and experience, you will guide, support and mentor the Pinos Altos Complex. You will ensure that objectives are met while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, the health and safety code of conduct and the environment.
- Collaborate with the Pinos Altos team to develop budgets and mining scenarios aimed at extending the mine life.
- Provide guidance to the mining and technical teams at the Pinos Altos Complex to support them in achieving production targets and improving operational efficiency.
- Support the implementation of tools and systems to effectively monitor and track performance against budgeted targets.
- Work on open pit and underground projects, located in various regions or countries.
- Participate in innovative projects, support the implementation and use of software.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering;
- Membership in a professional order (e.g. OIQ);
- Five to ten (5-10) years of experience in underground operations;
- Five years (5) experience managing mining and/or technical groups;
- Strong foundational knowledge of key areas of mining engineering, including but not limited to: drilling, blasting, ventilation, and geotechnical engineering.
- Open pit experience is considered an asset;
- Ability to use mine design and planning software such as Deswik and Datamine;
- Knowledge of simulation software such as HaulSim and VentSim would be considered an asset;
- Proficiency in the use of the English, French and Spanish language as you will be working in collaboration with other Agnico Eagle sites where each respective language above is the primary language.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday), a combination of tele-working and working in one of Agnico Eagle Mines offices closer to your residence in Rouyn-Noranda, Preissac, Val-d'Or, QC, Mirabel, Toronto, Timmins, ON, Hermosillo and Chihuahua, Mexico.
- Travel: 2 weeks per month on site at our Pinos Altos mine in Mexico.
