As a Mining Engineer in Training at Conuma Resources, you will engage in a dynamic and comprehensive developmental program designed to provide a broad foundation in all aspects of surface mining. Our focus is on nurturing your technical skills, expanding your practical knowledge, and preparing you for a successful career in mining. You will have the opportunity to explore areas of interest and specialize in fields that align with your career goals.
Mining EITs are involved in various roles across Conuma Resources, adapting to dynamic needs within the organization. While responsibilities vary based on specific role assignments, areas of involvement may include Survey, Drill & Blast, Short-Range Planning, Geotechnical, Business Development & Projects, and more.
- Gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment that encourages learning through practical assignments and mentorship.
- Explore various specialties within mining engineering to discover and develop your areas of interest.
- Work towards obtaining professional engineering licensure by meeting the required professional experience under the supervision of licensed engineers.
- Work closely with other departments, including environmental, geological, and maintenance teams, to ensure integrated operations and smooth workflow.
- Actively participate in safety meetings and audits, ensuring all activities comply with safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Learn to identify potential hazards in mine operations and understand the implementation of risk mitigation measures.
- Provide hands-on assistance during operations activities and ensure that safe work practices are followed.
- Other duties as required.
- Degree in Mining Engineering.
- Registered EIT working towards their P. Eng.
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to adhere to a 5x2 schedule with 8-hour shifts.
- Must be able to communicate in English.
- Proven safety and attendance record.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency using various software and applications.
- High level of attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision and to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Capability to build strong working relationships internally and with diverse groups.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions.
Conuma Resources takes pride in providing industry-competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package that truly values our employees. Specifically for Mining EITs, we offer an annual base salary range of $90,000.00 - $105,000.00,along with a variety of bonuses. These bonuses include monthly efficiency bonuses linked to safety and production, quarterly retention bonuses, and a performance bonus tailored to reward your contributions. Our benefits package also includes paid vacation and personal days, 7% RRSP matching, and 100% employer-paid extended health and dental care, among other valuable perks.
