The Opportunity:

Launch your career with Canadian Natural! We are currently seeking a dedicated Mine Surveyor to join our team at the Albian mine. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of surveying tasks across earth-filled structures, tailings, and mining areas, collaborating closely with Mine Technical Services, Geotechnical, and Mine Operations teams. Job location: Albian Oil Sands - Fort McMurray, Alberta.

•

Shift schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off - 12 hour shifts

•

Safety sensitive position: Yes

•

Key Accountabilities:

•

Conduct accurate surveying of all in-pit and ex-pit structures at Albian Mines using global positioning systems and 3D laser scanners in accordance with established processes.

•

Provide survey staking to support mine operations in excavation and construction of dykes, roads, and other mine infrastructure.

•

Collect, prepare, and compile data, plans, charts, records, and documents related to performance monitoring of large earth-filled structures.

•

Assist drone survey operations and provide support for high-precision guidance systems on mine equipment.

•

Work safely and efficiently to support mining operations and meet project timelines.

•

Design, modify and standardize technically accurate drawings, plans and cross-sections for multi-site application.

Skills & Qualifications:

•

A Geomatics degree or a technical diploma in Civil, Mining, Geological, or Survey Technology from a recognized technical school

•

Registered with ASET (or immediately able to receive accreditation) as a C.E.T. or T.T. designation

•

Preference given to experience in the geomatics industry, preferably in oil sands or mining

•

Alberta Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent with no restrictions for driving in the mine

•

Experience using AutoCAD, Vulcan, I-Site Point Studio, Trimble Business Center, or TGO, with working knowledge of Maptek software or similar topographical software is preferred
