The Coeur Silvertip mine located in British Columbia, just 10 miles south of the Yukon border is seeking a Mine Supervisor to work in a camp-based environment on a two week in/two week out shift rotation. - Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures;
- Ensure compliance with the Health, Safety and Reclamation Code for Mines in British Columbia;
- Supervise, direct, coordinate and coach the activities of employees engaged in the mining processes;
- Ensure operators are trained and experienced for assigned tasks;
- Ensure employees perform pre-operational check and supervise all job functions according to Safe Operating Procedures;
- Monitor equipment and processes and conduct trouble shooting activities when problems arise;
- Develop future proficient equipment operators from within the crew;
- Ensure all reporting is accurately completed in a timely manner;
- Promote continuous improvement in all aspects of the Mine Operations.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a mechanized mining operation;
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in similar role;
- Experience with paste backfill and cut & fill operations;
- Knowledge of ground support systems;
- Ability to read, interpret and follow mine plan documentation;
- Ability to operate Jumbo and trucking equipment;
- Valid BC Underground Blasting Ticket;
- Valid BC Underground Shift Boss Ticket;
- Valid St. Johns standard first aid course with a travel endorsement;
- Valid driver's license;
- Physically fit to perform the duties of the position.
- Mining, Oil and Gas or Heavy Industrial experience is preferred;
- Strong problem-solving, teamwork and ability to develop and foster strong working relationships;
- Strong sense of integrity, ethics and desire to positively impact the environment;
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal;
- Ability to work with a diverse cross-cultural workforce.
- Willing to work a two-week rotation schedule, with 12-hour shifts per day at a remote camp.
- Our current designated marshalling locations are Vancouver, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Calgary, Edmonton, Whitehorse, Teslin, and Watson Lake.
