Purpose & Scope of The Position:
The Mine Operations Fleet Dispatcher is responsible for the daily execution of the mine plan goals through the MineStar Fleet Management and Terrain Systems. The primary duties include shift startup, model configuration and fleet management, mine status checks, system management, troubleshooting, team and interdepartmental communication, and maintaining efficiency goals.

- Proactively coordinate activities and resources in conjunction with the Mine Operations Senior Shift Supervisor and other departments in order to comply with priorities and overall objectives of the mine plan.
- Utilize the Dispatch System to manage loading units, haul trucks and support equipment within mining areas to safely and efficiently meet planned production goals.
- System maintenance of roads, waypoints, processors, and equipment to reach the maximum potential of the MineStar Fleet Commander system.
- Generate necessary reports to determine equipment and operator status and KPI’s.
- Monitor the system for correct location and equipment status.
- Monitor and update the Mine Model to accurately reflect current mining advancement as well as proper Optimization of the system.
- Accurately maintain the correct disposition of all equipment and the current operating state for the purpose of operator, maintenance and delay tracking.
- Work with Radio Repair Technicians to troubleshoot all reported problems with MineStar and Terrain Hardware installed on equipment to include field communications hardware.
- Coordinate with Mobile Maintenance to schedule the required service for field equipment.
- Maintain accurate daily records and files.
- Successfully complete system related evaluations required for understanding and managing the system.
- Maintain clear communication with Shift Supervisors and Maintenance regarding any changes or potential impacts to production.
- Train employees as needed and assigned to operate the Dispatch system.
- Provide communications to all mine personnel for lightning detection.
- Work collaboratively with mine operations, mine maintenance, mine engineering, support services, human resources, safety, process and environmental areas to achieve business plan objectives.
- Develops cross functional synergies utilizing external support services as required.
- Willingness to perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of KGHM.
- Follow safe work procedures and best practices.
Required Education, Work Experience & Training:
- A minimum of 4 years open pit mine experience which may include but is not limited to Equipment operation, Mine Operations Supervisory positions, Mine Planning.
- Previous equipment operation and supervisory experience required.
- Multi-tasking in coordination with good communication skills is a requirement.
- A valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Education, Work Experience & Training:
- Previous short range mine planning experience.
- Previous MineStar Fleet Commander experience.
- Demonstrated intermediate understanding of the following:
- Mining equipment
- Basic mathematical calculations
- Organization and record keeping
- Computers
- Demonstrated moderate to advanced understanding of the following:
- Mining methods and operating practices
- Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Focus on Safety.
- Strong personnel development skills.
- Strong personnel organization skills.
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, including drug and alcohol testing.
- Ability to meet the required physical demands, including exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 pounds of force constantly.
