Reporting to the Production Geology Supervisor, you will be part of the Geology Department. To collect, collate and communicate accurate underground geological data to ensure that the operation efficiently extracts the orebody, meeting production targets, whilst ensuring adherence to all statutory requirements and Company Safety, Health and Environmental standards and procedures. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Conducting all work with safety in mind as top priority; adhering to all Company policies and procedures as well as applicable legislation;
- Maintain continual underground grade control mapping and sampling;
- Data entry of geological information;
- QA/QC and maintenance of geological database;
- Co-ordinate geological, grade control and drilling activities in the underground operation, ensuring best practice techniques;
- Maximise grade and minimise dilution through effective geological control;
- Maintain high levels of communication between Geology, Technical Services and Operations groups ;
- Maintain daily reporting of Production data;
- Produce technical reports based on resource definition and production findings;
- Diamond drill core logging;
- Other duties as applied from time to time.
- Registered GIT or P.Geo preferred;
- Strong appreciation and capability in structural & Production Geology;
- Two years plus in gold and/or underground mining;
- Strong computer and software skills (Leapfrog, Deswik, Fusion, DH Logger, Microsoft Office Suite);
- Excellent working knowlege of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
