Responsible for managing technical teams that design, configure, monitor and maintain all Local Area Network/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN), server, storage, database systems and middle tier functions in an economic, reliable manner consistent with all JEA Technology Services strategies & policies. Also responsible to manage the operations and maintenance budget to ensure all services are sustainable.
•Plan and schedule work requests associated with projects and operational tasks.
•Handle purchasing requests and manage assigned budget.
•Lead or participate with Request for Proposal bids and formal Request for Information as assigned.
•Oversee restoration of equipment and/or systems failures.
•Oversee and direct problem management initiatives to improve reliable information grid systems.
•Oversee technical resources responsible for backup support and data recovery.
•Review work performance, costs and schedules to ensure that desired productivity and service levels are achieved.
•Ensure work is completed in accordance with established policies, regulations and operating procedures.
•Participate in strategic planning initiatives.
•Plan, organize, train, coach, direct and evaluate the performance of assigned staff, establishing performance requirements and personal development targets aligned with the JEA Scorecard and Strategic Initiatives. Monitor personnel performance and provide clear, timely improvement and development direction.
•Provide leadership in the area of safety and wellness goals.
•Drawing on knowledge of process or assist in formulating policies which are applicable to bargaining unit employees.
•Assist in the strategy, development, and preparation for the conduct of collective bargaining negotiations on behalf of JEA.
•Administer collective bargaining agreements, identifying and reporting implementation successes and deficiencies as they relate to process.
Requirements:
Education
:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline preferred
AND
Experience
:
Eight (8) years of experience in information technology
OR
An equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training.
Licensing/Certification/Registration
:
A valid driver’s license is required prior to employment and must be maintained during employment in this classification.
The salary range for this position is $108,750 - $181,250 annually. Total compensation is commensurate with education, licenses, certifications, skills, and experience.
