Key Responsibilities

- Grind, sand, and polish metal surfaces (steel, aluminum, stainless) to meet smoothness and finish standards.

- Apply fillers and perform detailed prep work to ensure readiness for painting or powder coating.

- Inspect finished products for defects and verify quality control standards.

- Operate grinders, polishers, and finishing tools safely and effectively.

- Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and painters to meet production deadlines.

- Maintain equipment and a clean, organized work area.

- Adhere to safety guidelines and wear proper PPE at all times.

Qualifications

- Proven experience in metal finishing, auto body work, or fabrication shop environments.

- Skilled with hand tools and power finishing equipment.

- High attention to detail and strong quality-control mindset.

- Ability to read and understand shop drawings is a plus.

- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and shop safety practices.

- Physical Requirements

- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

- Capable of standing for extended periods.

- Comfortable performing repetitive tasks in a shop environment (noise, heat, dust).
